- Dried basil is used in much the same way as fresh basil, but has more of a pungent, minty taste

- Use 1/3 the amount of dried basil when substituting for fresh

- Basil is generally added at the last moment – to maintain the maximum flavour

- It can be used in herb rubs for meats or added to soups and sauces (especially
pasta and pizza sauce!) for added depth

- Basil can even be used in sweets such as ice-creams, and chocolate cake
